Hibiscus Green

I've been trying without much success to get a good dye from the hibiscus flowers outside my house. Today I tried dyeing with the leaves instead of the flowers and finally I had some success.

I got this great spring green from the dark green hibiscus leaves.

It's noticeably different in person from the more yellow green I can get from the Naupaka leaves. The actual color for the hibiscus green is a little more blue than it appears in the photo. So now I have two distinctly different greens to use as a base color for my shibori scarves.
