Bring out your Inner Artist with Sonja
My friend Sonja Hagemann from Oahu is teaching a class on the Big Island on July 2 that will do just that. She has a way of drawing out the artist in everyone who attends her class. She's been teaching a fabric painting class at Quilt Hawaii every year since 2000 and I've seen the faces of her students when they finish her class. They are absolutely amazed at what they were able to produce in just one day -- and not only that, when you walk by her class, which is often held outdoors with a view to the ocean or the palm trees or the mountains, you hear lots of laughter and happy voices. This year her project is a heliconia. You can see a picture of the project here on her blog and you can find out more about Quilt Hawaii and sign up for Sonja's class here.
