A Dollar a Day

I've been giving away a dollar every day -- anonymously dropping it around town or tucking it on a grocery store shelf or in one of the newspapers at Starbucks. It's fun to look forward to doing it every day and a challenge to find a new spot to put that dollar where someone will find it. And my goal is to continue this for all of 2010.

I've been thinking about doing something like this ever since I read Cami Walker's book 29 Gifts and then I stumbled across
Todd Silva's website on this very subject. The idea is to do this anyonymously without expecting anything in return. In reality, you get warm fuzzies from making someone else feel good and maybe a lot more. You don't have to give $1 -- you can give whatever feels right to you. You also don't have to give money -- Cami gave gifts of non-monetary value as well. The idea is to open yourself up for abundance by giving something away, indicating that you have more than enough of your own, and being ready to receive in all areas of your life. The idea is, though, that you give without expecting anything in return.

You can join me in giving away a dollar a day - if you do, let me know how it's making you feel and where you've been leaving your gift every day.

That is a great idea. My sister and I are always finding money on the street. We keep it in a special place and add it up at the end of the year. I'm thinking of doing this but on a smaller scale.
