Made in Hawaii is almost here!

The Made in Hawaii festival is almost here and I'm busy adding to my stock of scarves and pareaus. This week I'm doing lights and pastels. Already have lots of darker colors. Next week I'll be making more shibori scarves  Everyone who saw them at the Haleiwa Festival loved them. They are also hand dyed by me and are wrapped on a pole and scrunched to create a design. These are also truly one of a kind because you can never duplicate the process precisely. And to make them even more interesting, I'm dyeing many of them with dye I extracted from leaves and flowers I found on the Big Island.

The show is August 16-18. Friday and Saturday from 10am to 9pm. Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

In addition to all the craft vendors, there is always lots of entertainment, cooking demonstrations and a farmer's market. See the info below on the shuttle service from Waikiki.

Admission to the show is $4 but First Hawaiian Bank offers discount coupons.  See you there in booth #111 - a few rows back from the entrance on the left.

And this year the Festival organizers have added a shuttle from Waikiki so no more searching for parking!  Here's the info you need if you are going to be in Waikiki that weekend.

Don't want to drive to the Made in Hawaii Festival? No problem! This year we will have a Free Trolly with transportation between Waikiki area hotels and Neal Blaisdell Center. The service will be offered between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday; Sunday service is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pick-up/drop-off points will be at Hilton Hawaiian Village (Kalia Road), the Duke Kahanamoku statue (Kalakaua Avenue), Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, Ohana West and Neal Blaisdell Center.
