Manta Rays in Fabric

Meg Maeda from Tokyo is a faithful vendor and teacher at Quilt Hawaii and every year she has at least one spectacular quilt hanging in the show.  This year it was her Manta Ray quilt:

She has a pattern available and even better, a book called Meg's Hawaiian Quilts, that includes not only this pattern but many others. It's in Japanese but if you know how to do Hawaiian quilting you can easily use the patterns without knowing any Japanese. And it doesn't matter what language you speak when you look at the pictures!
