Here are some photos from an orchid nursery located between Hilo and Volcano.
I had a few frustrating moments when I couldn't get any pictures to appear on the camera screen even though everything else worked. So I got out my cellphone and figured out how to take pictures with that. After a while I got out my digital camera again, pushed a bunch of buttons and it worked. So I went back and took lots of pictures again with the digital camera.
It was windy and cold when I left Waimea, was warm and sort of sunny along the coast and then it rained in Hilo. By the time I got to the orchid place, it was alternating downpours with sprinkles. But seeing the orchids was worth the trip.
