Lots of Quilting on the Big Island
February is going to be a big month for quilters on the Big Island. The first Saturday in February is the annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Waimea and this year there will be a quilt show as part of the festival. It will be in the Kahilu Town Hall building across the street from Kahiulu Theater at the back of Parker Ranchh Shopping center. There will be quilts on display as well as quilts and other items for sale.
The entire month of February there is a Shop Hop going on. Quilt Passions is sponsoring a bus trip on Feb 11th and of course you can do the hop on your own as well. You'll find details about the bus tour in the Quilting on the Beach Retreat website. The brochure says:
Taking you all around the Big Island and stopping at at least six Quilt Shops, this tour would not be complete without stopping at the Big Island Candy Factory! It's from 7:30 am to 7:30pm and the cost is $65.
Then Pat Yamin, from Come Quilt with Me, together with Quilt Passions, is hosting a week-long quilters retreat in Kona during February. You can come for one day or spend the week. There are classes, lectures, trips, a quilt show and the chance to quilt on the beach! You can get more details here.
