The Cherry Blossoms are Blooming!

Photographer unknown.

December was so cold and rainy that the Cherry Blossom trees in Waimea are already blooming and it's just the first week in January. The Cherry Blossom Festival is held every year on the first Saturday of February and often the blossoms don't come out until a week or so later.  This year they're arriving early. There are lots of activities at the Cherry Blossom Festival including craft fairs, a quilt show, a tea ceremony, origami lessons, and more. A shuttle bus drops you off at various locations around town. This year I'll be at the Quilt Show (located across the street from Kahilu Theatre) selling my scarves. It's always one of the biggest days for the town of Waimea so if you're in the area, stop by and join the fun.
