Little Bee

Imagine vacationing on a beach in Africa and finding yourself having to make a life-changing decision that will change the lives of you and two young girls you never met before. Then, years later, finding one of the same girls on your doorstep on the day of you husband's funeral.  That's what happens to Sarah Summers in Chris Cleave's haunting novel, Little Bee, about life in oil-rich african towns and suburban London, about detention centers and immigration, about love and life and walking the talk.  Although I lean more towards mysteries, I'm so glad I found my way to this book.
